Racing The Sun
by Karina Halle
Release Date: July 28th, 2015 by Atria Books
Genre(s): New Adult Fiction | Contemporary Romance

From the USA TODAY bestselling author of Where Sea Meets Sky comes a new adult novel about a young woman who becomes a nanny in Capri and falls for her charges’ bad-boy brother.

It’s time for twenty-four-year-old Amber MacLean to face the music. After a frivolous six months of backpacking through New Zealand, Australia, and Southeast Asia, she finds herself broke on the Mediterranean without enough money for a plane ticket home to California. There are worse places to be stuck than the gorgeous coastline of southern Italy, but the only job she manages to secure involves teaching English to two of the brattiest children she’s ever met.

It doesn’t help that the children are under the care of their brooding older brother, Italian ex-motorcycle racer Desiderio Larosa. Darkly handsome and oh-so-mysterious, Derio tests Amber’s patience and will at every turn—not to mention her hormones.

But when her position as teacher turns into one as full-time nanny at the crumbling old villa, Amber finds herself growing closer to the enigmatic recluse and soon has to choose between the safety of her life back in the States and the uncertainty of Derio’s closely guarded heart.

I've never read any Karina Halle books before but I so need to accomplish that, probably start with The Pact or something, but I really want to get my hands on this book. Italian guy, hello? Plus, mini Italianos? I don't mind reading romances with kids in the story. In fact, I actually enjoy them as they're usually a breath of fresh air from all the romantic drama (even though it says "bratty children" on the synopsis, hah!)

Plus, I read an excerpt a while back and was so intrigued. Broke backpacker and now stuck in a foreign country? Well, if I was her, I would have flipped and had a nervous breakdown but the heroine's snarky personality (judging from the excerpt) is something I will enjoy.

July, come quick please?

  2. Advice: Begin with Love in English. The read her books in this order: The Pact, Love in Spanish, Where Sea meets Sky, so you can be prepared for this book and "The Offer" which had its cover revealed today. :)

Later you can also read her series, Sins and Needles.

    1. Oooh, I don't know about Love in English because I heard it's got a cheating in the book. But I'll check it out. Sounds like a sweet read, anyway. :D And Yes, I saw the cover for The Offer. Looks awesome! Is it like a companion book to The Pact? because they have the same cover style, lol.
