ADD TO GOODREADS
New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh stuns with a sizzling contemporary romance…

A bad boy wrapped in a sexy, muscled, grown-up package might be worth a little risk…

Molly Webster has always followed the rules. After an ugly scandal tore apart her childhood and made her the focus of the media’s harsh spotlight, she vowed to live an ordinary life. No fame. No impropriety. No pain. Then she meets Zachary Fox, a tattooed bad boy rocker with a voice like whiskey and sin, and a touch that could become an addiction.

A one-night stand with the hottest rock star on the planet, that’s all it was meant to be…

Fox promises scorching heat and dangerous pleasure, coaxing Molly to extend their one-night stand into a one-month fling. After that, he’ll be gone forever, his life never again intersecting with her own. Sex and sin and sensual indulgence, all with an expiration date. No ties, no regrets. Too late, Molly realizes it isn’t only her body that’s become addicted to Fox, but her heart…

It sucks to say that I'm kind of disappointed about this book. Although I've been a big fan of Nalini Singh's fantastic writing, especially with her Psy-Changeling series, this book didn't reach that kind of level. Now, I'm a sucker for a good contemporary romance -- plus steamy scenes -- and I had been so excited for this book, but sucks to say, it didn't make me give it the usual 4 to 4.5 star rating that I often give to steamy, smexy books.

Rock Addiction is a two part novel; the first being the meeting between Molly and Fox and a little bit of getting to know, even though they've already done the dirty, and the second, being Molly on tour along with the band.

I'm not going to deny, the beginning was smokin' hot, sparks flew between Molly and Fox, but everything went downhill afterwards when one of my pet peeves regarding romance novels came into view. I like reading about the chase, the inhibited sexual passion between a couple, especially if they're from two different worlds; as in the case of Molly and Fox (a librarian and a rockstar). However, Rock Addiction was oozing with instalove just a few chapters in and I couldn't help but cringe at the sudden emotional connection, but I'll have you know there's lots of angry sex and make up sex to look forward to, despite the oh-so cringeworthy instant love.

All in all, this wasn't a bad read at all to start a series, but as I mentioned, I was kind of disappointed as I expected more into the story. It was a tad boring, yes, but the steamy scenes do make up for the loss.

Sorry this was a bit boring, too bad for that but glad the other scenes more than made up for the slow ones.

It was, but I liked the succeeding books more, especially the second book. It was much better. :)
Haven't really checked out this author yet. I know she's got a huge following. I think I attempted her angel series or something but i couldn't get past chapter 1 of book 1. hahah!

I only read up to the 3rd book of her Guild Hunter series (the angel series, lol) and I kind of got bored, lol. I prefer her Psy-Changeling series more, though I still have yet to move on from the 3rd book as well, lol.
I 100% agree. Not up to par when it comes ot her other series. The beginning was great, but the rest went down hill.

Definitely. But I did love the following books of the Rock Kiss series, especially Rock Hard. :D
I love Singh's Psy Changeling series but I haven't finished all the books. I may start this one soon since it'll be easier to catch up.

Same here, I haven't read all her Psy Changeling books but I prefer those to her Guild Hunter series. :)
I haven't found a rock star series that has blown me away yet, and I so don't enjoy insta-love. I'm all about the chase. Great review Blessie!

Oooh, I don't know if you're very into NA but I just read a series called Stage Dive by Kylie Scott and it is awesome. It's like THE only rockstar series that blew me away. ;D Thanks, Jazmen!
Instalove?? Ugh. REALLY? I despise instalove so I guess that means this book isn't the one for me. That's such a disappointment because it's SO much funner to read about a couple, learn about them, and root for them to get together while their romance and attraction steams underneath the surface until that satisfying moment when they DO get together.

I know right? Though in some books, instalove actually works, because for sure, there's a plot twist in there somewhere, but in some books, the plot twists are just so anticlimactic, like in this one and it just sucked. :/
First off, THANK YOU for stopping by earlier and for following me via BL, I'm following you back and I comment back as well. I'm comment thirsty like that! Woot!

So Singh, I plan on reading Psy-Changeling. I skipped this though because 1. I don't really do NA; 2. Rockers aren't really my thang; 3. The series has been getting mixed reviews. I think I need a hard shove to try this. I'm so glad you loved it though.

Thanks so much for the follow, Braine! The Psy-Changeling series are my faves, though I haven't read all the books yet, lol. I liked the 2nd book best in this series, it's called Rock Hard, which is kind of like a spun off to the rockstars because it's a boss-employee love story. :D
Gosh Blessie, you read some super hot titles and this sounds like one of them. I could never even fathom smushing a librarian and rock star together, which is probably how it's so steamy. I can imagine that the author was detemined to make her the regular plain Jane who is awakened by the tattooed bad boy. Boy, maybe I could even I could write one of these sexy books even :D Awesome review Blessie, sorry the instant love turned you off, and who can blame you, but glad you were able to enjoy it for the most part <3

I love my super hot titles! Hahaha! If it weren't for the instalove, I would've loved it more. Thanks, Kelly! :D If you do write a smexy hot book, I'd love to get my hands on it! ;D Hahahaha!
whaaaat I loved this book ;-: I gave it 4.5 stars. I think I liked it better than the couple of books I read in her psy-changeling series. *shrugs* Maybe I just like all the steamy sex. Plus hot librarians and rock gods ... my vision of heaven <3

I loved the next book, Rock Hard, but this one was a little bit boring for me. :/
Awwww! I feel like this book sounds like it has so much potential! Rockstar and a librarian?! How can you go wrong with that?! Lol! Sorry you didn't love it, but from your reasoning, I'd probably feel the same way if I read it. On a side note, I'm glad to see that you enjoyed the Psy/Changeling series! I've been thinking about picking it up!

It does, plus, I usually enjoy this author's books, which is why I was kind of disappointed that this didn't par up to her other books. And yes, I'm still trying to find the time to continue with the Psy-Changeling series, I'm sooo behind, lol.
This series just get better with each installment, Blessie! I was a bit disappointed with this first story as well, but I loved the follow-up stories so much!

I hope you're having a fantastic week. Happy reading.

I definitely agree! I liked Rock Courtship more, and loved Rock Hard! :D Charlie and T-Rex all the way! ;D
Ugh. I reaaaally hate insta-love. It's the reason why I avoided this book. I read the next book in the series, Rock Hard, instead. And I absolutely loved it.
