BOOK REVIEWS: Triple Brazen Threat (Dirty Deal, Stealing His Heart & Taming His Tutor)

I've always been in love with Brazen Imprints from Entangled ever since I've laid my hands-- or my eyes, rather, on one. And I just know, Brazens never disappoint. So here's a triple threat of hot Brazen goodness for y'all.

Title: Taming His Tutor
Author: Natalie Anderson
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Date Published: August 25, 2014
Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Noble
My Rating:

This is the first Natalie Anderson book I've read, and I just have to say that there were instances I could not relate to her writing style, but Taming His Tutor has it's fun, flirty and sexy side.

Taming His Tutor features Abbi Hayes and Joe Fuller, who used to be acquaintances back in high school, and they get reunited after ten years from being tutor mates to *wiggle wiggle* mates. (LOLZ)

Abbi Hayes, a little nerdy on the side, is learning to get out of her shell and trying to give her self confidence a boost. Not only had she been a shy wallflower back in high school, she'd been accused by her ex-lovers of being terrible in bed. She needs all the help she can get, from her awesome, overly confident friend and a self help audio book... about letting out the inner vixen and learning to pleasure a man's body.

"The ‘Vixen’ is irresistible to men, full of allure, culture, mystery, she’s utterly magnetic. With some practice you can be –"

Joe Fuller, he'd been a jock tutored by Abbi back in high school, and following a successful basketball career, an accident happened pulling him out of the basketball zone, and instead, he's got himself a business that he enjoys. Imagine his surprise when he manages to save doe eyed Abbi from getting run down in the middle of the street, just because she had been distracted listening to a self help sex audio book.

Things get hot and heavy when Joe offers to "tutor" Abbi in releasing her inner vixen because self help books just won't do. Demonstration is better than simple information. In exchange for the six lessons she'd given him back in high school, he offers her six lessons in attracting men and making them stay.

Abbi and Joe were just adorable, there was lots of chemistry and everything was just sizzling hot between them. I love it. From the characters to the story plot, although the only thing that didn't get me was Ms. Anderson's writing style. There were instances where I'd read a couple of sentences in the steamy parts that just didn't do it well for me, which is why I couldn't give it a four.

Title: Dirty Deal (Perfectly Matched #2)
Author: Christine Bell
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Date Published: August 25, 2014
Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Noble
My Rating:

Dirty Deal is the second installment of the Perfectly Matched series and also the first book I've read of Christine Bell. Although I've had her on my TBR list for quite some time, I received this as an ARC so I decided to start with this.

And I definitely was not disappointed at all. If you're looking for a quick fun, flirty and sexy read, Dirty Deal is the perfect book for you.

Serena Elliot co-owns Love Will Find a Way, a matchmaking business with Grace (From Dirty Trick) and they've got their eyes set on Military Doctor Bryan Metcalf to be the face of their rising company. He's ignored them ever since he returned from the tour and bidding on him at a charity auction was the perfect chance to get him as their endorser.

Bryan Metcalf is simply done with insane, won't-take-a-hint women, especially from his exes. No more relationships, Nada. He's done with being threatened to have his car run off a cliff or being stalked twenty four-seven. But his sister thinks he needs to settle down. Yes, she just doesn't understand the terror of being clung on to. So when he witnesses a bidding battle between a feisty blonde and his insane ex-girlfriend, he's terrified.

A business proposition and hot encounters occur, and now Bryan can't get enough of Serena. Serena gets Bryan as the face of the company, and Bryan gets a fake girlfriend, just to get all his exes to back off, especially Piper the stalker.

Serena is just the most cutest, hilarious character ever. She's funny and incredibly witty and most of all, is not interested in a relationship. Just the perfect woman for Bryan. He's leaving in two weeks anyway, so I suppose a little fling won't hurt. NOT. But Serena's trying to fight the feelings, telling herself that sleeping with him should be the last thing she should do.

"You're telling me that you don't think you want to sleep with me again. That doesn't mean we're not going to. It just means that you're fooling yourself."

The reason why I couldn't give this book a full five stars was because of Bryan. Why? He may be hot and sexy and can definitely make you smile, but when women start getting clingy and being all serious? He's ready to bolt. What the hell man?

But other than that, this book was just plainly awesome. Can't wait to read more of Christine Bell's.

Title: Stealing His Heart (Shillings Agency #2)
Author: Diane Alberts/ Jen McLaughlin
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Date Published: August 25, 2014
Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Noble
My Rating:

I've been waiting for this sequel after I've read the first installment of the Shillings Agency series. And I have to say, I definitely was NOT disappointed at all. Because this book is HOT HOT. (Damn right, double hot. BAM!)

Jake Forsythe is a Shillings employee, working as private security, and is forced to lure in a thief who was able to infiltrate a safe of one of the company's clients. But the thing is, this thief is in the glorious form of Tara Harris a.k.a childhood friend. a.k.a. ex-partner in crime. and a.k.a. ex-almost lover. All he needs from her is the fix to the code she'd been able to crack when opening the safe and that's that.

"Get the code. Get rid of the girl. Simple"

But Tara Harris, she knows she's no thief. Like a modern day Robin Hood, she steals from the rich and corrupt and returns them to their rightful owners... she'd prefer the term, 'Recovery Specialist'. After being lured in by Jake pretending to be an American CEO in need of a precious painting that had been stolen from him, she needs to tell him the fix to the code or else, she'll be thrown in jail.

"I don't have a choice, unlike you. You will do exactly what I tell you to do, or go to jail for your crimes. Your choice."

I'm not gonna lie, Jake is absolutely one of the sexiest characters I've ever read, and hot damn, praise to the author for creating such a sexy, dirty mouthed, dominating male character ever. He's just every woman's guilty pleasure. But goddamn, do I want to hate him on the very first half of the book for being such an ass to Tara. Not to mention, he's terribly broody and is all Mr. You-Deserve-Better in almost every part when he starts to open up.

Tara is just definitely adorable and badass at the same time, giving Jake a hard time in forcing her to share the fix to the code. She's heartbroken for what he'd done before, leaving after he almost took her virginity and ignoring her for the past eight years, but she's determined to get the old Jake back even when he seems to have changed after his stay in the military.

These two, they just make everything so hot especially with Jake's mini-BDSM fetish, or should I say, controlling issues. He's both dominant in and out of bed, always requiring obedience and "saying please".
This book is just pure sexiness from beginning to end, and not to mention, there's another sexy character coming up: Gordon. I'm excited for his book, yup.
